It’s time for the sixth edition of Wednesday Night Shuffle! It’s time for the fourth addition of Wednesday Thursday Night Shuffle! I realize it’s Thursday though. I was scrambling around to get ready for school and everything and it slipped my mind and I’m finally getting around to it now. Labels have searched tirelessly for the next great white rapper ever since Eminem first broke onto the scene in 1999. They failed. But there is a new generation of white emcees ready to breakthrough into the mainstream. Let’s go two years back, Asher Roth was on the rise. He had a very successful mixture to his name, The Greenhouse Effect, and his hit single I Love College was tearing up the charts. On a side note Asher has one of my favorite lines ever on his A Millie Freestyle where he goes “you stupid m***********s don’t get it, it’s pathetic, cause you get to the pros and don’t do s**t like you Reddick”, best line ever. Inevitably Asher Roth started drawing comparisons to Eminem all over the place. He couldn’t go anywhere or do any interview without being asked about the comparisons. Fast forward two years, while Asher didn’t become the next Eminem, he potentially opened the door for other white emcees without even realizing it.

So I’m going to start doing something new here at the ESP. Every Wednesday night around 10:00 I’m going to do something similar to the New Music of the Week posts. I’m going to select five different tracks that have been on rotation the most during the past week. They can be new, old, rap, rock, pop, whatever. I’ll talk a little about each track and give you a stream, download, ect. It’s just going to be about good music. The posts are normally going to more around ten o’clock, not this late.
