And we have the third installment of Wednesday Night Shuffle! If you aren’t familiar, then here’s the deal: I’m going to select five different tracks that have been on rotation the most during the past week. They can be new, old, rap, rock, pop, whatever. I’ll talk a little about each track and give you a stream, download, ect. It’s just going to be about good music. This has been one of the strongest weeks for music releases in recent memory. We got new music from Kanye & Jay, Rockie Fresh, Curren$y with Wiz Khalifa and Big Sean, Hoodie Allen, H.O.P.E., Huey Mack, Sonny Shotz and Royce da 5’9″. I put up eight tracks because there was absolutely no way I could narrow it down to five, I even had to cut out solid releases from Emilio Rojas and two other releases from Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean and Curren$y from the list. The west coast is on the revival lead by artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Pac Div, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Fashawn, Dom Kennedy and many more, but it’s time someone else was added to that list. And that is a man by the name of H.O.P.E. That name may sound familiar and that’s because this project was number 14 on my Top 25 Albums of the Year. Recently this album has been on serious rotation and if I could have re-done that list I’d probably have moved this into the Top 10, it’s just that damn good. So check the review below on why H.O.P.E. is the next best thing out of Compton, CA since Kendrick Lamar!

It’s hard to believe that we are already halfway through 2011. Even harder for some to believe that there have been so many good releases in music already. That being said I’ve cooked up my Top 25 releases of the year so far. Rather than try to breakup mixtapes and official releases (which have become pretty much one in the same lately), I decided to lump them all together and give you my take on the twenty-five best releases at the midway point of 2011.
