Game Six Preview: Who Will Answer Our Call of Greatness?

With Game 6 of the 2011 NBA Finals looming, we are all curious to see two things; can the Mavericks close it Miami? Or can the Heat, despite multiple controversies, look like the team that is 9-1 at home and send the series into 7?

Game Six will undoubtedly surround if LeBron James can respond to five poor quarters in the previous two games in Dallas. He needs to be involved clearly if they want to win, and “The Big Three” will need to contribute upwards of 70 if Miami has any prayer of extending the series. The positive is, as I reported in NBA Finals: Series Guide, that Miami will have one of the X-Factors that had been helping them go nearly undefeated in these Playoffs; The Crowd. The Crowd can help the struggling Heat stay motivated in a tight game, helping them reach that next level.

If you have not heard yet, news was released yesterday that Dwayne Wade and LeBron James were supposedly making fun of Dirk Nowitzki before Game Five. The two were captured on video, fake coughing and jeering something idiotic that no one gives a crap about. The best thing however is that they talked the talk, but they didn’t walk the walk; because in both games what happened….THEY LOST! Check it out.

Either way, I’m curious to see if Dallas can win not one, but two amongst a frenzy crowd in Miami. Dirk is going to have to deliver once more – I’m confident he will – with help of his role players like he received in Game 4. As long as they play with the solid, team minded defense game; in addition to an experienced, half-court offense – that must control the pace. If and only if these things happen, then the Mavericks can walk out of Miami tonight with something that the Dallas players have expressed they want more than anything in the world. Something that Mark Cuban needs to assert himself as, likely, the most famous manager in Texas and something that the Dallas Mavericks franchise could capture for the first time in its storied history; a NBA Championship complimented by the Larry O’Brien trophy.

Despite the result, I have no doubt in my mind that the game to tonight will be close; just like the other 5. Miami and Dallas will be there in the end, the only question is who will finish? Jason “The JET” Terry or Dwayne “D3” Wade, Dirk “The Dirk” Nowitzki or LeBron “Three Quarters” James.

Enjoy the drama folks, all the questions will be answered; it’s just a matter of time.
