With summer just around the corner, I am counting down the ten most anticipated albums of the summer. The albums in this list are slated for releases in June, July and August. In the words of Cam’Ron, “It’s gon be a real m***********g hot summer, man. For everybody.” So, without further ado, let the countdown begin.

10: Tech N9NE – All 6’s and 7’s
Release Date: June 7th
Producers: J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, B.o.B, Seven
Guest Features: Kendrick Lamar, Busta Rhymes, Yelawolf, Lil Wayne, B.o.B, T-Pain, Twista, Snoop Dogg
Singles: Worldwide Choppers, He’s a Mental Giant
The best selling independent artist returns for his twelfth studio album with a huge line up for guest features. With a great mix-up of hardcore rap songs, you can expect the usual Tech on this. Also, word is B.o.B goes back to his old (pre-pop) self and murders his verse.
Worldwide Choppers (feat. Ceza, Yelawolf, Twista, Busta Rhymes, JL B.Hood, Uso, D-Loc & Twisted Insane) – Tech N9NE

9: DJ Khaled – We the Best Forever
Release Date: June 28th
Producers: Noah “40” Shebib, The Renegades, Cool & Dre, T-Minus, Kanye West, Lex Luger, Jim Jonsin
Guest Features: Drake, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Rick Ross, Plies, Lil Wayne, T.I., Akon, Young Jeezy, Fat Joe, Ace Hood, Jadakiss, Nas, Lupe Fiasco, Gucci Mane, Wiz Khalifa, Dr. Dre (?), Waka Flocka Flame, Chris Brown, Tyga, Jay-Z, Birdman, OJ Da Juiceman, 8Ball & MJG, Keisha Cole, Webbie, Gorilla Zoe
Singles: Welcome to My Hood, I’m On One
If there are two things DJ Khaled is good at, they are screaming all over his records and getting a crazy amount of big name features on his songs. And with some serious guest appearances on this album, expect it to be a hot summer.
I’m On One (feat. Drake, Rick Ross & Lil Wayne) – DJ Khaled

8: The Cool Kids – When Fish Ride Bicycles
Release Date: July 12th
Producers: The Neptunes, Chuck Inglish
Guest Features: Bun B, Travis Barker, Ghostface Killah, Asher Roth, Chip Tha Ripper, Mayer Hawthorn
Singles: Bundle Up
After years of delays and setbacks, The Cool Kids are finally ready to release their debut album. With features from couple heavyweights, it’s going to be a monster of an album.
Bundle Up – The Cool Kids

7: Curren$y – Weekend At the Burnie’s
Release Date: June 28th
Producers: Monsta Beatz
Guest Features: Young Roddy, Trademark
Singles: #Jetsgo
With two of the best albums of 2010 (personally I liked Pilot Talk 1 more), Curren$y finally gears up to release his first major label debut. He also dropped one of the best projects of this year, Covert Coup, with Alchemist so Curren$y has all of the hype needed to drop his album.
#Jetsgo – Curren$y

6: Bad Meets Evil – Hell: The Sequel
Release Date: June 14th
Producers: Havoc, Supa Dups, Mr. Porter, Bangladesh, The Smeezingtons
Guest Features: Slaughterhouse, Bruno Mars, Mike Epps
Singles: Fast Lane
Bad Meets Evil is a group that consists of Eminem and Royce da 5’9”. It has been 12 years since they last collaborated and with both of them on arguably the top of their game, I’m curious to see who comes out on top between them. By the way I can’t wait for that Slaughterhouse song!
Fast Lane – Bad Meets Evil

5: Big Sean – Finally Famous: The Album
Release Date: June 28th
Producers: No I.D., The Neptunes, Kanye West, Xaphoon Jones, The Legendary Traxster
Guest Features: Chris Brown, Kanye West, Pharrell, Lupe Fiasco, Chiddy Bang, Wiz Khalifa, John Legend, Roscoe Dash, Rick Ross, Pusha T, Dwele, The-Dream
Singles: What U Doin? (Bull$#!@ing), My Last, I Do It
With some big name appearances lined up for his debut album and a couple of very successful mixtapes to his name, the G.O.O.D. Music freshman Big Sean is bound to make a name for himself.
What U Doin’ (Bull$#!@ing) – Big Sean

4: Lil Wayne – Tha Carter IV
Release Date: August 29th
Producers: Polow da Don, Jim Jonsin, Swizz Beatz, Coo, & Dre, Kanye West, Noah “40” Shebib, T-Minus, Bangladesh
Guest Features: Rick Ross, Cory Gunz, Tech N9NE, Jadakiss, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Drake
Singles: 6 Foot 7 Foot, John, How to Love
If Tha Carter IV is anything like its predecessor, then we are in for an amazing album. Let me just state that Lil Wayne needs to stay along the 6 Foot 7 Foot lines rather than that How to Love crap.
6 Foot 7 Foot (feat. Cory Gunz) – Lil Wayne

3: Kanye West & Jay-Z – Watch the Throne
Release Date: July 4th
Producers: Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, Lex Luger, Hit-Boy, Bangladesh, Jeff Bhasker
Guest Features: Beyonce, Bruno Mars
Singles: H.A.M.
To say that I am highly anticipating this album would be a complete understatement. With Yeezy and Hova exchanges bars for an entire album, I expect nothing but the best.
That’s My B***h (feat. La Roux) – Kanye West & Jay-Z

2: J. Cole – Untitled
Release Date: TBA
Producers: J. Cole, No I.D.
Guest Features: Jay-Z, Trey Songz
Singles: Who Dat, Return of Simba
This might be my most highly anticipated album of the entire year because J. Cole brings everything you need in a true MC. After many delays J. Cole recently said “”All singles done. Album ridiculous. Title Perfect. Music incredible. Thank you for your patience. Let’s change the game.”, so I hope more than anything that he is actually telling the truth.
We On – J. Cole

1: Kendrick Lamar – Section.80
Release Date: TBA
Producers: Dr. Dre, Sounwave, THC, J. Cole, Tae Beast, Willie B
Guest Features: J. Cole, RZA, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Javonte, Ash Riser
Singles: HiiiPoWeR
With his sophomore album, O(verly) D(edicated), possibly my favorite album of all time and his first single, HiiiPoWeR, my go to song at the moment, I could not be looking forward to this album any more than I already am. With Dr. Dre and J. Cole supposedly behind the boards, this will be my early pick for album of the year.
HiiiPoWeR (Prod. by J. Cole) – Kendrick Lamar
